Benjamin Eaton Elementary School - Eaton, Colorado

The project presented multiple overlapping challenges during the shoot. Not only was the school in active session, but ongoing construction work complicated access and aesthetics, with orange construction fencing installed throughout the property. We needed to navigate around busy student drop-off and pick-up times while avoiding class disruptions. Additionally, we faced the complex task of capturing the space in use while strictly adhering to student privacy guidelines.

We implemented a multi-faceted approach to address these challenges. By identifying and utilizing less busy periods, we maximized our shooting opportunities while minimizing disruption to school activities. Our strategy included careful timing to spontaneously incorporate students in common areas, bringing life to the spaces while respecting privacy guidelines. Advanced post-processing techniques allowed us to remove construction elements, presenting the addition as intended. When certain shots proved unattainable due to construction obstacles, we maintained transparency with the client and adjusted our final invoice accordingly to ensure fair value.

The RB+B team responded enthusiastically to the final images, stating, "The photos look great, I can't wait to share with the team internally." Despite the construction challenges, our photographs successfully captured their design vision and will serve as valuable assets in RB+B Architects' portfolio, showcasing their expertise in seamlessly integrating new structures with existing school buildings.
